Eating and cleaning

Wow, I bet you're all impressed with how clever this post title is........Sorry :). But it does sum up the past 2 days.
Not a lick of cooking yesterday.  I had a lunch date with a friend at the Pub.  I had "the best" potato bacon soup. I wish I could get their recipe because it was the best I've tasted.  Then I went out to supper in a nearby town with another couple of pals.

You might want to brace yourself for the appetizer.......Mussels in a whiskey Alfredo sauce.....

Oh my gawd.....that sauce was amazing.  After the mussels were gone we just sat there and sopped up the rest of the sauce with the bread.

It's another day in the deep freeze here so I promised myself I'd stay home and clean and then I would reward myself with some hooking.  Vacuumed, dusted, scrubbed the floors and tackled reorganizing the wool shelves.   Here's the before pic

And here is the after.  All the yarns are on top and the wool is a bit better organized.

Now I think I'm ready to pick a new project. I have a pile of patterns to choose from, it's just a matter of mood I guess.

Happy Saturday

  1. Kim,
Your wool looks wonderful. Doesn't it feel good to have it all organized? Too bad it doesn't last...sigh.
Hope your temps are warming up. We are above freezing today. Yippee!
    Hugs :)

  4. By the sounds of things, it looks like you're living on Easy Street.
    Those muscles sound delicious.

When I eat something I totally love, I try to recreate the recipe by paying attention to the ingredients and the taste. I had a good reproduction of one recipe at a restaurant with scallop Supreme. It was to die for and I used to make it on special occasion but haven't made it in a long time. You know how I love seafood.

Your wool looks well organized and Im sure that you hooking something by now.
Have a great weekend of rest and hooking.
    Hugs,
    JB

  10. I am such a fan of mussels. Whiskey Alfredo sauce sounds amazing. I think I will google that to see if I can find a recipe for that. The wool shelf looks neat and orderly. Have fun on your next project.
